Born in 1975, Dr. Yogendra Singh Naruka is a Ph.D. (University of Rajasthan, Jaipur 2002) awarded artist who has participated in numerous shows and exhibitions held in different Indian cities as well as abroad (Romania, 2002).
His paintings are not based on realistic and current day affairs but on the dramatic ways of a child’s imagination. Watching how children imitate an Indian wedding ceremony gives him inspiration and allows him to depict figures very simply. Children “ follow all the customs, be it decorating the bride or making the groom sit on a horse. Musicians playing on their instruments or the bride being sent away on a plane.”
As Naruka’s paintings are based on a child’s thought, he tries to keep them very simple and therefore paints with a roller instead of doing calculated work with a brush. |
