Born in 1965, Chippa Sudhakar graduated in Fine Arts from J.N.T. University, Hyderabad. He then went on to do a post diploma in Graphics from the M.S. University, Baroda in 1990. Recipient of many honors and awards such as the Bombay Art Society Award, 1993, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath Award, Bangalore, 1993 and the Hyderabad Art Society Award in 1994, he has also exhibited in several cities including the National Print Exhibition and the Drawing Exhibition at the Bank Side Gallery in London.
His talent goes beyond oil on canvas, reflecting his bond with rural India on wood, on paper and on other media.
Having spent much of his childhood days in rural India, Chippa now lives and works in a farmhouse studio in Andhra Pradesh (2006). |
