Retired dean of College of Arts & Crafts, Lucknow (1962), is a master print maker and a fine painter as well. With the advanced Printmaking degree from Slade School of fine Arts, Unifversity of London as well as at the Department of Fine Arts, Delhi Polytechnic, Delhi.
With several scholarships, grants, honours to his credit.He has held several honorary positions. (i.e. Hony. Director, Creative Art Centre, State Lalit Kala Academy, Lucknow 1975-83; President and Founder Member of Visual Art Society, Lucknow; Vice President, U.P. Amateur Photographic Association, Lucknow 1976-78; Founder and Secretary, Society of Cacti & Succulents, U.P., Lucknow).
Over the years he has participated in several national and internatinal camps, workshops and seminars and has also exhibited all over the world in England, Italy, Japan, Germany and USA to name a few. He is recognized by numerous national and international awards (International Award in 4th International Biennale of Graphic Art, Florence, Italy – 1974).
His works are also in permanent collections in India and abroad such as Smithsonian Institue, Washington DC and Kansas State University, Kansas, USA. |
