The leitmotif of Krishna Mahawer’s paintings is the fish. For this ambitious young artist, the fish symbolises creativity, desires, determination, luck in essence, life itself and also all that lies beyond and transcends into the cosmic.
Krishna graduated from M.D.S. University in Ajmer with gold medal in 1998. She received additional educational qualifications, proved by “Chitra Vishrad” 5 Year Diploma in Drawing&Painting from Pracheen Kala Kendra. Chandigrah; Qualified National Eligibitly Test (NET), UGC. Furthermore, Krishna did post graduated studies in Drawing in Painting M.D.S. University in Ajmer (with gold medal). In 2006 she attended three month course in”Care of painting” at National Museum in New Delhi by Ministry of Art & Culture.
A research scholar and lecturer in Fine Arts, young Krishna has been painting and exhibiting for the last ten years with several solo and group shows. She is also the lucky recipient of the Guru Shishya Scholarship that enabled her to work under the prestigious tutelage of Anjolie Ela Menon.
Krishna’s paintings have found a place in several state and private collections in India and abroad. |
