Born in 1942 in Madras. Studied advanced painting at GovernmentCollege of Arts &Crafts in Madras and underwent training in Fresco techniques at Bhanasthali Vidyapith College in Rajasthan. He attended the scholarships in Print making in Israel and institue USA in India. R.B. Bhaskaran did the post graduate studies in England.
He attented the various workshops and camps such as J&K Academy of Fine Art, Kerala, Lalit Kala Academy, and USIS; graphic Workshop at San Diego State university, California, USA) and camps such as Seminar of Art Education at Bangalore, Seminar on National Policy on Culture.
He was awarded by Department of Culture, Government of India, Ministry of Education as well as he received the national award for Graphic Art.
R.B. Bhaskaran has been painting and exhibiting for more than 40 years with several solo and group shows. He was asked to perform as a Jury for the National exhibition of Art (Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi), Jury for the Kerala Lalit Kala Academy, Jury for teh Rajasthan State, Lalit Kala Academy.
